General Abdulfettah al-Burhan, the army's commander and the head of the Sudan Sovereignty Council, made the decision to cancel all of the Rapid Support Forces (HDK) bank accounts that were at odds with the army.

Burhan fired Central Bank Governor Hüseyin Yahya Jankol and retired four army commanders who were HDK supporters with the help of the decrees he made.

Burhan, the chairman of the sovereign council, made the decision to close all of HDK's linked enterprises' bank accounts.

On the morning of April 15, fighting between the Sudanese army and the HDK erupted in Khartoum, the country's capital, as well as other cities.

According to the World Health Organization, there were 604 more fatalities and 5,127 more injuries as a result of the fighting.

In order to put an end to the ongoing battles between the army and the paramilitary NGO in Sudan, talks between the parties concluded with the signing of the "Jeddah Declaration" on May 11.
