Telemarketing

$10/hr Starting at $25

After high school graduation in 1958, I established myself with Burroughs Corp., Plymouth, MI, and was promoted quickly from a File Clerk to the Secretary of the Engineering Dept., where I began to hone my skills in administrative assistance. Through the following 15-20 years, while raising a family, I intermittently worked as a Secretary to several Supervisors, mainly in the field of Engineering. Upon becoming a single parent, and a move from Michigan to Colorado, I established myself with the El Paso County Clerk's office, where I worked at the front desk, filing legal documents, receiving payments such as child support, restitution payments, etc., as well as any clerical assistance to the Court Clerk and her Assistant. My duties also included filling in for the Judges' Secretaries due to their absence for anywhere from a week to a month duration. This was a temporary nine-month position obtained through a County program, after which time I transferred to a position in the City of Colorado Springs Police Department as a Transcriptionist. After a second marriage to a Military person and several years in Germany, where I worked under the Civil Service Overseas Employment Department as a Secretary/Administrative Assistant for five years, upon returning to the States I began to make a transition into Telemarketing/Sales. I worked mainly in the area of cold calling and some leads, screening prospects, setting appointments for Sales Reps, and following up with Clients. At one point, in a Staff of approximately 40 Reps, I was in the Top Ten of Marketers; and we were offered the option of becoming Trainers/Mentors.
