I translate and interpret from Portuguese to English and although there are many variations in accents and vocabulary usage I feel comfortable translating from African, American or European Portuguese into either American or European English. Since living in Brazil for most of the past 17 years I have made many translations, mostly for university academics in various areas of research including anthropology, geography, ecology, medical sciences, biosciences and am flexible to improve the necessary vocabulary for other areas of research and any kinds of business or government organisations. I am less confident translating from English to Portuguese and it takes me longer. I also understand Spanish and can translate although I have never interpretted live from Spanish. I now have rudimentary French language skills but would like to retain and improve it for the future.
