Yahya Polat is an assistant professor of Linguistics and literature at an International University in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he teaches courses in undergraduate and graduate level. Some of the courses are; Turkish-Kyrgyz-English translation, History of English and American Literature, Kyrgyz English Translation Audiovisual Translation Introduction to Translation Quran and Hadith Translation Religious Translation Faith based Translation and Machine Translation. His research interest includes: Kyrgyz, Turkish and English Syntax and Proverbs, which was the title of his dissertation. Translation of Proverbs, Machine Translation and Qur’an Translation. Most recently he has been working on a book called “Altin Bulak,” Kyrgyz Proverbs and their translation into Turkish. His articles; on Paremiology, Translation and Literature have appeared in a number of national and international journals.
