Yes, there are a lot of ads on the internet nowadays promoting one-day websites that pass off other people's work as their own (sometimes my work gets stolen too). They either can't deliver the quality shown in their portfolio (since the work isn’t actually theirs) or simply take an advance payment and disappear. After a month, the website gets shut down, and a new, identical one appears, driving traffic all over again.
Web development is my main and only job—I’ve been making a living from it for years. I have absolutely no reason to scam anyone because ruining my reputation wouldn’t make any sense. It’s much more beneficial for me to simply complete the project and get paid.
