Music and art inspire me and my dream and passion is to pass on that inspiration to other people. That's why I want to do commissions that I can put my heart into, and teach art and music.
My family is full of music and art. My dad is an artist and taught me to draw at a very young age. My whole family sings and plays musical instruments, and barbershop harmony is something we're all involved in. My love for music and art comes from my upbringing.
When it comes to art, I love to draw anything, but recreating human figures and expressions are a love of mine. I find it very awe inspiring to be able to capture a moment of emotion and memorialize it on paper or canvas. I love realism, and most of my art is direct observation and attempt to emulate something as realistically as possible, while maintaining artistic liberties by making the choice to make certain things abstract. I've always been considered an old soul. Along with the old-fashioned barbershop harmony tunes I love so well, I also have a special place in my heart for old musicals (The Music Man, Easter Parade, The Bandwagon... etc.) and those old show tunes. I love music groups from the 30s and 40s (The Ink Spots and the Flamingos) Doo Wop groups and crooners. My tastes aren't limited to this though. I have a love for modern folk music (my favorite group, the Wailin' Jennys has such beautiful intricate harmonize that I can appreciate so much, being a harmony-loving Sweet Adeline.)
