The company was founded in November 2017. as a sole proprietorship, owned and operated by Emir Aličić.
It was providing freelancing services up until 2020. During this period, development services were mainly provided in the form of joining another software development team on a short-term base. Under the same approach, some smaller custom software solutions were provided.
After multiple successful partnerships, growth of business requirements complexity, and general scaling of our customers' businesses, the freelancing model was not applicable anymore. So, Gradient services started to transform into offerings that were more applicable for the new business state.
That new business form is a Team-Oriented software development company and is performed in three steps:
- As the first step, Gradient Typescript Training is organized. Trainees who show dedication and ambition to improve in software development were invited to join the Gradient team.
- This brings Gradient to the second step, where Gradient becomes a Value-Based company. That value is individual knowledge growth.
- The final step of this transformation is becoming a Team-Oriented company. This is achieved by applying full internal business transparency between team members.
Today, Gradient is an established Team-Oriented software development company that provides high-quality services to its clients.

Work Terms
Pricing Models
Gradient team is comfortable working under two generally defined pricing models, depending on the service requirement clarity and clients' preferences. These two are: Fixed Price and Hourly models.
Fixed Price
Fixed price model includes next characteristics:
Gradient Team creates SOW (Statement of Work) for discussed services,
SOW contains final (fixed) price and delivery date,
For larger services, the requirement is split into milestones (every with its price and delivery date),
Fixed price services have a 6-month guarantee starting with the delivery of the last milestone
In this model, Gradient team guarantees:
final price,
project delivery at date as offered in SOW,
project quality by providing a 6-month guarantee (all bugs found in 6 months are resolved without additional charge).
Disclaimer
If the requirement is changed during execution of fixed price agreement, Gradient Team obligations regarding existing SOW development stop being valid.
In this scenario, the next SOW has to be created and offered.
Development done in the previous SOW version, even if obsolete by new requirement changes, has to be compensated.
For development that is not done by the previous SOW version, Gradient Team does not require compensation.
Hourly
Hourly model includes next characteristics:
Price is defined per every invested hour of every Gradient Team member,
Gradient Team plans development actions with a client as per needed services during the time,
Client can change, redefine, cancel or change the priority of different features/services.

In this model, Gradient Team can not be responsible for the total price of development, or project delivery date. Gradient Team can not offer a 6-month guarantee on the delivered solution because of an obvious conflict of interests.
Gradient Team can provide estimates about total price and delivery date, but it is important to note that estimates can not be accurate.
