I studied BCom Information Systems at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. I completed my Honors degree after that, and completed my Masters degree in IT part time. While I studied I aspired of becoming a professional athlete as I have always been a fairly good sprinter and held records in the 60m and 100m.
Unfortunately life happened and I needed to start focusing on my career. I started out as a java developer at Bromin Systems for about 1 year. Moved to a different company called Canton Trading, where I was one of two developers. There I used VB.Net Asp.Net, DevExpress, SQL Server, SSRS. I worked there for 2 years and basically had to do everything from meeting with clients, gathering requirements, designing, developing, etc. I eventually became a director for a short while before I quit.
I then moved to a company called MACMoney. Here I focused on MySQL, Jasper Reports and a bit of Java. I worked here for 4 years and then I quit.
I then started at a company called Derivco, which provides software to online casino operators. Here I mainly focus on SQL Server, but I do use C# and Powershell from time to time.
Work Terms
I would prefer to work in the evenings(SA time) and on weekends, as I do still have a full time job.
I would prefer to communicate via E-mail or instant messaging. Calls are essential some times and thus I can do that but preferably after hours(SA time) and over weekends.
Payment terms can be discussed.
