Smart Code. Real Solutions. One Developer.
I’m John Carlo Martin — a Computer Engineer passionate about building smart, reliable, and purpose-driven technology.
Ever since I wrote my first lines of code, I’ve been fascinated by how logic and creativity can come together to solve real problems. That curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering from Northwestern University, where I dove deep into both software development and embedded systems. I enjoy creating solutions that don’t just work—but make things better, faster, and easier for people.
💡 Where I’ve Been
In my recent internship with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), I led the development of a Warrant Searcher Application. Using Python and Tesseract OCR, I helped automate the extraction and filtering of legal documents, cutting down manual search time by more than 60%. Seeing my work officially adopted by the agency gave me a huge sense of pride—it proved to me that good code can have real-world impact.
During college, I also built a Biometric-Activated Smart Classroom system using Arduino and ESP32. Developed during my capstone project as part of my engineering degree which was a practical response to energy inefficiency and weak security in classrooms. I integrated fingerprint recognition, device automation, and even real-time intrusion alerts—all packed into one smart, responsive setup. It was a challenging build, but one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had so far.
🛠 What I Do Now
I specialize in:
Software Development using Python, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Embedded Systems & IoT using Arduino, ESP32, and ESPRainMaker
Whether it's building efficient desktop tools, designing responsive websites, or programming smart devices to react in real-time—I create tech that works for people.
🌱 What I Value
I believe in clarity, efficiency, and growth. I aim to write clean, readable code—not just for machines, but for teams and future developers who’ll work with it. I value feedback, welcome collaboration, and I never stop learning. For me, every project is a chance to grow and do better.
🎯 Beyond Work
When I’m not coding, I enjoy creating simple logic games or quizzes, tinkering with DIY electronics, or exploring new tech tools that challenge my thinking. I like working on projects that reflect real needs, whether personal or professional. I’m also passionate about helping others understand tech better—through clear explanations and well-documented work.
Let’s build something that matters.
Whether you need a reliable developer, a creative engineer, or just someone who cares deeply about the craft—I’m ready to work with you.
