Linguistic Localization Expert
I'm a Spanish-native linguist who spends his days making sure a message survives the trip into another language. Over the past few years I've worked across translation, subtitling, and localization quality for educational and media content with hands-on range in English, Italian, French, and German. My home turf is the production side of the craft: CAT tools like SDL Trados and MemoQ, machine translation post-editing, LQA, terminology and nuance management, transcription, and data annotation. What drives me is fidelity-content that reads as if it were written for the target audience from the start, not translated into it. That priority shapes how I approach every brief, from technical material to storytelling.
A few things I'm proud of: I've subtitled and proofread roughly twenty lecture videos for a global audience, owning the full path from caption formatting to final error review so the content arrived clean. In an academic setting, I interpreted live during seminars and built bilingual strategies that measurably moved students' English forward. The common thread is accuracy under a tight deadline and a refusal to let meaning get lost in the handoff.
What I bring:
- Subtitling & captioning for global audiences
- CAT tools (SDL Trados, MemoQ) & MTPE workflows
- Localization QA, terminology & nuance management
- Transcription, data annotation & SFT support
- Copywriting & narrative design
Outside the deliverables, I'm an analytical, detail-first thinker who genuinely enjoys research, fast creative writing and planning a project end to end. I adapt quickly, work proactively & like leading the parts that need a steady hand.
