Data Scientist

A year ago, I started my journey as a Data Scientist at a bank — no fancy title, just a strong desire to solve real problems with data. I wasn’t building models just for the sake of it. I wanted them to work, to make decisions, to bring value.
One of my first big projects was a credit limit management model. I still remember testing different variables, checking stability, tweaking features, and finally seeing it deployed. That model went on to help determine which customers should receive increased limits — and it performed with a Gini of 78. Not bad for someone fresh in the field.
From there, I got my hands on all sorts of problems — predicting defaults with PD models, helping match suppliers to the right UNSPSC product categories using recommendation systems like LightFM, and even building an audio sentiment model to analyze call center conversations. That one was fun — turning raw voice signals into meaningful insights taught me how wide and creative this field can be.
I’m not the kind of data scientist who hides behind jargon. I like to keep it simple, make it work, and improve fast . I clean messy data, engineer smart features, train interpretable models, and monitor them in production. I use tools like Python, SQL, SHAP, Dataiku, and know when to automate and when to dig deep.

I’ve worked in regulated environments, built things that actually got used, and learned how to communicate technical stuff in a way that makes sense to non-technical people.
