About

I’m a full stack designer and developer who strives to create the best user experiences that I can for both the end-user and client.

Hi everyone, my name is Rick Zawadzki. I'm a hybrid web designer and developer with a special interest in UI / UX Design. I've been working in the field for a little over 15 years. My exploration with computers and art began rather early with my exposure to the Apple IIe and a program called "Dazzle Draw". Then came my lifelong passion- the Macintosh and Photoshop. Attending Florida State University in 1995, the next four years further developed my passion for the creative and technical as I studied Studio Art in the School for Visual Arts and Dance. I absorbed every "new media" class that I could- web design, graphic design, digital video, and interactive design.

In 1999 I began my career as a front-end web designer. Over time, though, I added server-side development using ColdFusion as well as client-side interaction design with JavaScript to my skillset. During the eleven years that I spent working for Osceola County I led the creative vision and front-end development efforts- setting the visual tone and design language that would come to define a number of internal and external websites and web applications as well as the graphics and feature art that were used on them at the time.

It was a very educational opportunity. During the course of those eleven years I also had the opportunity to develop for streaming media using NodeJS and create map visualization using County GIS data, jQuery, and Google Maps.

The love of outstanding design, problem solving, and the formulating the big picture are intrinsic to my very nature!

When I'm not working, I'm either spending time with my girlfriend, writing, getting my CrossFit on, or playing in the mud!

Work Terms

At this time I am available between the hours of 8:00 am and 7:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday. However, depending on the nature of the project, the deadline, and our current client relationship, I will flex my availability from time to time to help us achieve our mutual goals.

My current rate of pay is $50.00 / hour for a minimum of a 10 hour project. I prefer to communicate via email or chat to have things in writing. With that said, sometimes the best way to expedite something is through a phone or Skype call and I’m more than happy to do that when it’s the best tool to use.
