urning real-world problems into intelligent, scalable AI solutions — with curiosity, commitment, and code.
I’m Sk Shamim Aktar, a passionate Computer Science graduate with a mission to build technology that solves meaningful, real-world problems — especially using AI, machine learning, and NLP. My journey began with a curiosity for how machines learn and evolved through multiple research internships, hands-on projects, and academic work in large language models, document intelligence, and data systems.
During my time at the National Informatics Centre (NIC), I led the development of a government-grade document extraction pipeline using LayoutLM and OCR, reducing processing time by 87% and supporting 4+ departments. I further explored multilingual NLP and low-resource language processing at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, where I worked on sentiment analysis and Roman-to-Assamese transliteration models using BiLSTM and BERT.
I’ve authored peer-reviewed research papers, contributed to open-source projects, and built systems using Python, FastAPI, FAISS, SQL, and cloud platforms like GCP and AWS. Whether I’m debugging a deployment or fine-tuning an LLM prompt, I bring persistence, creativity, and a love for learning.
Outside work, I enjoy sketching, reading philosophy, and journaling about how AI can serve humanity better. I'm a believer in continuous growth, mindful innovation, and collaborating with teams that challenge the status quo.
Let’s build something impactful — together.
Work Terms
I'm available to work 20–40 hours per week, including weekends if needed. I prefer clear, async communication (email, Slack, or WhatsApp), with optional check-ins over Zoom or Google Meet as needed.
Payment terms can be project-based, milestone-based, or hourly depending on the scope and delivery. I value transparency and responsiveness in every collaboration and always work with a commitment to deadlines and quality delivery.
I'm open to long-term engagements, fast-paced environments, and research-backed technical roles in AI, ML, backend systems, or product engineering.
