Pharmaceutical Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 10+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry to support an advanced research and engineering initiative.
The SME will provide pharmaceutical domain expertise, evaluate research outputs, interpret scientific and pharmaceutical information, and collaborate with multidisciplinary research and engineering teams.
Location: Mountain View, CA / Silicon Valley
Work Arrangement: Onsite 2 days per week
Engagement Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Duration: 6 months
Weekly Commitment: 35 hours/week
Rate: USD $90–$120/hour

Key Responsibilities
Partner with research and engineering teams to provide pharmaceutical expertise.
Evaluate research outputs for scientific and pharmaceutical accuracy.
Review and interpret complex pharmaceutical and scientific information.
Review and synthesize information from scientific literature, pharmaceutical sources, and regulatory materials.
Support research related to drug development, clinical research, pharmacology, or pharmaceutical operations.
Identify inaccuracies, gaps, assumptions, and potential improvements.
Provide expert recommendations to improve research quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on complex pharmaceutical research questions.
Document findings and recommendations clearly.
Stay current with developments in pharmaceutical science, drug development, and regulatory practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
10+ years of professional pharmaceutical experience.
Strong analytical and scientific reasoning skills.
Experience reviewing and interpreting complex scientific and pharmaceutical information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with research, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
Must be able to work onsite in Mountain View, CA 2 days per week.
