I have been volunteering for more than 4 years in a humanitarian organization "Srce" which provides support and service to people that are in some sort of psychological need. I provide support via telephone, e-mail and web chat. Through this job, I have learned to deal with all sorts of people and always stay positive and kind. I earned skills like assertive communication and active listening. I always try to maintain a good atmosphere and be understandable. This is one example how I deal with some issue in working field- having in mind that stress is something that is very common for customer service position while working with unsatisfied customer. If I start to feel any stress during my working hours I try to rationalize where is the source of that feeling coming from. In mean time, I stay focused and calm in order to maintain order around myself and not to spread negative energy. When the critical situation is over, I finish my rationalization about wrongs and rights about the situation and make conclusion for next time in order to handle it better. If something is made wrong by me, I try to make it right, but with no panic. If another person is wrong I try to understand that different perspective too. Beside low stress, this helps me to improve and be professional. Working with people is the most fun and challenging thing to do, but it is surely never boring. I last worked as Swedish speaking customer service agent. Took calls in english and swedish, worked on emails and was part of international virtual team.
