I help clients reduce EMI/EMC risk through architecture, schematic, PCB-layout, grounding, filtering, protection, and interface review before formal testing.
This service is ideal for Product companies, startups nearing certification, industrial and consumer hardware teams. It is structured for commercially serious projects where reliability, performance, documentation, communication, and production readiness matter more than simply completing a drawing.
SERVICE SCOPE
✅ Noise-source and coupling-path identification across power, clocks, switching nodes, cables, connectors, interfaces, enclosure, and grounding
✅ Schematic review for filtering, transient protection, decoupling, return paths, common-mode control, and interface robustness
✅ PCB review for layer stack, placement, routing, plane continuity, loop area, split references, cable-entry zones, shielding, and chassis strategy
✅ Design considerations for emissions, immunity, ESD, EFT/burst, surge, and related product risks where applicable
✅ Pre-compliance test planning, debug access, test configuration, failure investigation, and corrective-action prioritization
✅ Coordination with mechanical, cable, power-supply, firmware, and compliance teams
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE
✅ EMI/EMC design-review report with prioritized findings
✅ Recommended schematic/layout corrections and pre-compliance test plan
✅ Support during prototype troubleshooting or design revision when included
ENGINEERING APPROACH
I normally begin by reviewing the product objective, development stage, available files, interfaces, expected quantities, enclosure constraints, operating environment, compliance targets, and the client’s main technical concern. For complex work, architecture review and finalization are completed before detailed circuit or PCB design begins.
I do not promise certification results because final compliance depends on the complete product, enclosure, cables, power source, firmware states, test method, laboratory, and production variation. The goal is to improve design robustness and reduce preventable retest cycles.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Experience includes EMI/EMC-conscious hardware design for industrial, wireless, consumer, battery-powered, high-current, and mixed-signal products.
Projects may be completed hourly or through clearly defined milestones. Components, fabrication, assembly, shipping, laboratory certification, paid software/services, and other third-party costs are separate unless specifically included.
To receive an accurate scope, please share the product requirements, existing schematic or PCB files, block diagram, datasheets, mechanical information, expected deliverables, target schedule, and any known technical issues.
