I help clients design reliable power architecture, conversion, charging, protection, and battery-management hardware for portable, industrial, IoT, and embedded products.
This service is ideal for Battery-product teams, industrial companies, IoT and portable-device startups. It is structured for commercially serious projects where reliability, performance, documentation, communication, and production readiness matter more than simply completing a drawing.
SERVICE SCOPE
✅ Input-power definition, power-tree planning, load/current profiling, startup behaviour, sequencing, and transient requirements
✅ AC/DC module integration, DC/DC conversion, buck, boost, buck-boost, LDO, load switching, ideal-diode, ORing, and protection circuits as applicable
✅ Battery charging, fuel gauging, pack monitoring, cell protection, BMS support, power-path control, and low-power operation
✅ High-current routing, copper sizing, connector selection, thermal planning, sensing accuracy, grounding, filtering, and EMI/EMC-conscious layout
✅ Component derating, tolerance analysis, fault scenarios, test points, measurement planning, and manufacturing preparation
✅ Prototype bring-up and power validation when included
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE
✅ Power architecture, schematic, PCB layout, BOM, and manufacturing outputs
✅ Power budget, critical calculations/assumptions, and test plan
✅ Prototype measurement and debugging report when included
ENGINEERING APPROACH
I normally begin by reviewing the product objective, development stage, available files, interfaces, expected quantities, enclosure constraints, operating environment, compliance targets, and the client’s main technical concern. For complex work, architecture review and finalization are completed before detailed circuit or PCB design begins.
Battery and power designs require careful attention to peak loads, thermal limits, protection thresholds, cell chemistry, charging source, connector losses, fault energy, component tolerance, enclosure temperature, and regulatory context.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Relevant experience includes low-power wireless devices, battery-operated products, high-current sections, industrial controllers, power management, charging, and protection circuits.
Projects may be completed hourly or through clearly defined milestones. Components, fabrication, assembly, shipping, laboratory certification, paid software/services, and other third-party costs are separate unless specifically included.
To receive an accurate scope, please share the product requirements, existing schematic or PCB files, block diagram, datasheets, mechanical information, expected deliverables, target schedule, and any known technical issues.
