I grew up bilingually (German and Albanian) and have 2 years of experience translating excerpts from books and scientific papers, written in English, for my university while I was studying there. I have also four years of working experience, as a translator, for various foreign organizations that operate(d) in my home country (Kosovo) like OSCE, K-FOR, UNMIK, etc. But I have to say that I'm not a professional translator. So, even though I'd do a pretty good job translating stuff, especially things pertaining to my profession ( engineering, science, etc.), I have no legal power to back it up because I'm not a certified translator. Hence, if you need to get translated documents that will be used in court or something, you'd be better off finding a professional sworn translator (preferably one from the 'real life').
