Ukraine is subtly changing its war strat

UKRAINE: KYIV In a head-to-head conflict with intense artillery clashes, Russia still has a decisive advantage over Ukraine despite incurring terrible losses over the course of the conflict's nearly six-month duration. But by fighting the war on its terms, the Ukrainian military has experienced some fresh battlefield successes.

With the assistance of local fighters known as partisans and a growing supply of long-range Western weapons, Ukraine has been able to strike Russian forces far behind enemy lines, cutting off vital supply routes and progressively hitting areas that are crucial to Moscow's military capabilities.

At least eight jets were destroyed in a series of explosions at an air base on the annexed Crimean Peninsula this week, which a Ukrainian official said were the result of a Ukrainian missile.

According to Western intelligence experts, hundreds of Russian troops are in danger of getting cut off from supplies after the Ukrainians claimed to have destroyed the final of those four crucial bridges on Saturday.

Oleksii Reznikov, the defense minister of Ukraine, stated this last week in an interview with the Ukrainian news site Pravda, "We do not have the resources to litter the area with bodies and shells, as Russia does." "Therefore, it is vital to switch up your strategy and approach the battle in a new way."

The tactic appears to be having some success. The Ukrainian military hasn't gained much ground in terms of territory, but it has been able to slow Russia's advance across the nation—at least for the time being—and stop the severe losses the country had been taking in recent months, which had caused morale to dip and some soldiers to even desert their platoons.

However, despite several Ukrainian military positions progressively crumbling under Russian onslaught in the east and the south. Despite defeats from Ukraine's attacks, the incremental gains show that the Russian military effort still has sufficient resources to carry out offensive operations.

With the aid of new, longer-range weapons, Ukraine's operations in the south are more an extension of a policy that was chosen at the beginning of the war to compete on equal footing with Russia. The Russian army is vastly superior to Ukraine's forces in terms of personnel, equipment, and ammunition, so Ukraine's military has had to be creative and quick.

Reporting on the Russia-Ukraine conflict War on the Ground: A significant Russian air station in the Kremlin-occupied Crimea was shaken by a series of explosions that Ukraine claimed responsibility for. Russia downplayed the damage's scope, but the data at hand suggested otherwise.
