About

Sales that close, Support that sticks. That's the whole pitch

Daren Pacey Abella — Sales Development & Retention Specialist I didn't start out in sales. I started out studying Aeronautical Engineering — learning that in aviation, there's no such thing as "close enough." Every system has to work, every process has to be checked, and small oversights become expensive fast. That mindset never left me. It just found a new runway: revenue.

For the last several years I've worked the full arc of the customer relationship — from the first cold call to the renewal that keeps a client for years. As a Sales Development Representative at Allbridge, I generated $1.2M in qualified opportunities against a $1M target, running cold calling and email campaigns that turned strangers into scheduled demos. Before that, at Fibrely, I redesigned a technical support workflow that lifted customer retention by 30% and grew upsell revenue by 15% — because I've always believed that support isn't a cost center, it's where trust either gets built or gets burned. At HelloFresh and DocuSign, I sharpened that further: cutting churn, driving first-contact resolution above 90%, and learning that most "difficult customers" are really just customers who haven't been listened to properly yet.

What I believe:

Revenue and retention are the same job. Anyone can close a deal once. I build relationships that renew themselves.
Technical fluency is a sales advantage. I don't hand a confused customer off to another department — I am the department that fixes it.
Process beats hustle. Streamlined workflows and clean CRM data (Salesforce, HubSpot, Groove) aren't glamorous, but they're why my numbers hold up quarter after quarter.

Outside of work, I'm usually somewhere with a line in the water or a paddle in my hand — fishing and pickleball are my reset buttons after a heavy sales week. I'm also a bit of a personal finance nerd, which probably explains why I treat every pipeline like it's my own portfolio: nothing sits idle, everything gets tracked, and I'm always looking for where the next return is coming from. I speak English, Filipino, and Cebuano, and I've built my career on the same principle every time: show up prepared, solve the real problem, and make the customer glad they picked up the phone.
