Duygu is a documentary filmmaker from Izmir, Turkey. In her work, she is interested to explore social issues through first person experiences and narratives. Duygu has produced, directed, and edited four short documentaries. Her films have screened in many film festivals around the world including Slamdance, Starz Denver International Film Festival, San Francisco Independent Film Festival and IAWRT Asian Women’s Film Festival.
Duygu holds a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Bogaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and an MFA in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University, where she was a recipient of 2011-2012 C. Diana Christensen Fellowship. Duygu divides her time between Istanbul and Monterey, CA working as a freelance filmmaker and translator.
