Hello, Jacob here, nice to be acquaint.
When I was born, I was clad in lead from all the pencils I used to write with, whilst in my mothers womb.
That's myself, in summary.
I am on Upwork as a Subtitler, (Transcriptionist or transcriber,) Writer and an Excel Guru, of sorts.
I was taught shorthand in Secondary school and I thought it was the most worthless skill anyone could learn. Then I started transcribing and it took me roughly six hours to transcribe an hour of audio.
So, I started using shorthand and cut down time to roughly three hours. Roughly half!
(Whilst also saving time. The accents were never a problem. I always imitated accents as a kid and understand them very well.)
"Why did that read/sound like something out of a commercial?"
Because I am also, a writer. I have been one since I could (or was allowed to) hold a pencil and I thought to share with the world, skills I so vigorously learned, created, trained for, perfected and finally, mastered.
I am a versed in Tech but write about any topic, so long as it can be researched.
As a summary, I write:
- Copy,
- Blog posts and Articles,
- CV's and Resumes,
- Stories and pretty much anything else.
But there's more!
A little something known as the cherry on the icing on the cake.
I am also somewhat of an Excel "Guru", so if you need a list made and organized, someone to run inventory, or want a pivot table created, then I am also available and have the skills.
But if I don't, I will google it or watch a video on YouTube.
"How can I be this diverse and still be productive?"
"How can I assure you that I am the right investment?"
Well, sadly, I am not gullible enough to answer that, but I am arrogant enough so I will attempt.
Your job is your hair and freelancers, are a comb.
Some combs hurt and some don't, but they get the job done.
Some combs are big and some small, but they get the job done.
