I am a translator with seven years of experience. I am a native Spanish speaker and provide general translation and technical translation services.

My name is Miriam Delgado, and I am from Venezuela. I am based in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. I am an English-into-Spanish translator with seven years of experience as a subtitling and text translator. My area of expertise is essentially technical translation, but I also have a background in general translation.
I am working for Participatory Culture Foundation INC, and I worked for Every Child Grows as an independent translator for a year. As a freelance translator, I want to work for other LSPs and direct clients.
I am also taking a Professional Certificate in Translation Program at the University of California San Diego Extended Studies Division to improve and advance my career. Because of that, I have done the following courses at the University of California San Diego Extended Studies Division: Introduction to Translation and Spanish to English Translation I. Since I want to specialize in Medical translation, I did some online courses in Anatomy at Michigan University.
I have a bachelor’s degree in biology from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a graduate degree in General Management from the same university. I also studied English as a foreign language in the United States of America for a year.

Mi nombre es Miriam Delgado de De Lima. Soy de Venezuela y, en estos momentos, me encuentro residenciada en Caracas, la capital de Venezuela. Soy traductora inglés-español y tengo siete años de experiencia como traductora de subtítulos y textos. Mi área de especialización principal es la traducción técnica, pero también tengo experiencia en la traducción general.
Actualmente, trabajo en Participatory Culture Foundatio INC y trabajé para Every Child Grows como traductora independiente por una año. Mi aspiración es proporcionar servicio de traducción a agencias proveedoras de servicios lingüísticos y clientes directos.
Hoy en día, estoy hacienda un Professional Certificate in Translation Program en the University of California San Diego Extended Studies Division para mejorar y avanzar en mi carrera como traductora. Hasta ahora he cursado Introducción a la Traducción y Traducción Español-Inglés I. Como quiero especializarme en Traducción legal y de medicina, también hice varios cursos en línea de anatomía en la Michigan University.
Estudié Biología en la Universidad Central de Venezuela e hice un posgrado de especialización en Gerencia General en esa misma Universidad. También estudié inglés en Estados Unidos por aproximadamente un año.

Work Terms

The translation service is on working days.
For text translation, we work with Word.
There will be an extra charge if you want to convert PDF documents to Word documents or vice versa.
The translation service is from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English.
The rate for every translation can be hourly or per word.
I will charge an additional percentage for the technical translations.
The delivery time will be like this:
• From 1 to 2 days up to 1000 words.
• From 2 to 3 days for more than 1000 to 3000 words.
• From 3 to 4 days for more than 3000 to 5000 words.
• From 4 to 6 days for more than 5000 to 10,000 words.
• From 6 to 9 days for more than 10,000 to 15,000 words.
• In the case of technical translation, the delivery time will be at least 24 hours more than the regular delivery time.
I need to know the following things:
• Who is the target audience?
• Are there any previous glossaries I should use?
• Is there a style guide I need to read?
• Is there any software you use to add the subtitles?
• If you have another special requirement, please let me know.
