Natural native English to French translations, proofreading, voice over and transcription

I am a native bilingual french (France) / english (Scotland). I studied literature and semantics at the University of Edinburgh. I have +15 years experience working with languages and I am new to Freelancing.

• Translations
I specialise in natural english to french translations and I emphasise on the rendition of the true meaning of the texts.

• Proofreading
I can correct any document in french from an automated translation to a complex revision of grammar and punctuation.

• Voice Over
I use Audacity, an AT2020 to record and Premiere to ensure proper timeframe.

• Transcription
I can subtitle english and french. I use Express scribe and a pedal.

I had an opportunity to follow one of my passion which is photography and moved abroad. I learnt Spanish and kept on working with languages on the side, mostly doing translations.
It gave me the opportunity to work on different types of texts such as:

• blogs
• websites
• menus.

Also, I have been giving french tuition to adults.

These last years have given me the opportunity to fully reconnect with my first passions which are languages.

General manager - Perfumery Industry Sep 2005 - Dec 2013
This position allowed me to develop many skills for a raw material manufacturer for the perfumery industry.
I used to write all the company’s documents in both French and English such as:
• contracts
• manufacturing procedures
• material safety data sheets
• memorandums of agreement
• surveys and reports

Hence, I have a good scientific and legal background and I am comfortable translating such documents.

I also worked as an interpreter on various trips in Asia.

Work Terms

I am a full time freelancer which means that I can commit to a demanding task in terms of hours, days or weeks.

I find the system of milestones very clever and reassuring both for my clients and myself when a job requires identifiable steps. I accept PayPal as a preferred means of payment or bank transfer.

All the modern tools that allow us to further communicate are welcome, Skype, telephone, emails ! As long as time zones are respected I am opened to communicating with my clients with whichever tool allows us to work best.
