Making Technology Work for Your Business
30 years of software development experience, database management, and perhaps most important, operations expertise. Technology should make your business better - simpler, more efficient, less tedious, and more profitable.
With any client, I start by understanding their operations and what are the most pressing problems to address. I try to speak with users when possible and understand the processes they use in detail. By having the big picture, it provides context to all the components of the system.
Once I get a handle on the requirements, I try to put together the most efficient processes possible, THEN employ technology to support them. Too often, processes are made to conform to the technology which generally results in a less efficient operation.
