Work Terms
Scope of Work (SOW): A detailed list of deliverables, deadlines, and project boundaries. Anything outside this document is "scope creep" and requires extra payment.
Deliverables: The final assets you promise to hand over (e.g., .PNG, .SVG, printable PDF).
Source/Editable Files: The original working files (e.g., .AI, .PSD, .INDD). Designers typically charge extra to transfer source files unless agreed upon upfront.
Revision Cap: The set number of visual adjustments included in your price (typically 2–3 rounds). Further revisions are billed at an hourly rate.
Kill Fee: A contractual clause specifying a percentage payment (usually 25–50%) if the client cancels the project midway.
Intellectual Property (IP) Rights: Clauses determining who owns the final artwork. Standard practice is to release copyright to the client only after full payment is received.
Kill Switch / Watermark: Placing low-resolution or stamped previews on draft work until final invoices are settled to prevent theft.
