Guru Updates
With the federal observance of Veterans Day in the U.S. on Monday, November 12, payments made by Prepaid MasterCard, direct deposit or wire transfer may be delayed in reaching you. Although Guru is open our regular hours and will be processing payments as usual, most U.S. banks are closed on this date.
Please be mindful of the potential for payment delays as you coordinate with your Employers on any upcoming transactions.

Starting December 16, you will be able to leave feedback for the party you worked with, even after Arbitration cases. Just like other feedback instances, you will have 60 days to leave feedback.
Why are we changing this policy?
Previously, we did not allow parties to leave feedback following an Arbitration case. As a result, some members used Arbitration as a method to simply avoid receiving negative feedback. This change closes this loophole.
Misunderstandings and human errors may at times result in unjustified feedback. Accordingly, all Guru.com members can choose to block a small portion of their feedback. If you receive an unjust feedback following an Arbitration case, you can opt to block feedback using your blocking power.
How much blocking power do you have?
Your blocking power is ten percent of your cumulative Guru.com earnings over the last 12 months, less the value of blocked feedback records. For example:
| $100,000 | Last 12 month’s earnings |
| $10,000 | Initial blocking power |
| $1,000 | Dollar value of invoices associated with feedback you blocked to date |
| $9,000 | Your remaining blocking power |
In this example, you can block any combination of feedback for invoices totaling $9,000.

On August 26, we made updates to the Registration, “Create Identity” and Dashboard pages on Guru. Following this update, we received quite a few suggestions for improvement for the Dashboard page. Thank you for your valuable feedback! We have reviewed your suggestions and made changes to the Dashboard page. You can now get to Invitations, “Project Matches” and “Watch List” pages by clicking on the links on the right panel of the Dashboard page.
Everything we cook at Guru is seasoned with your thoughts. The Dashboard page will not be an exception. It will also evolve to your taste and liking.
While we are on the subject of updates, let me fill you in on the upcoming changes.
I am personally most excited about your new Profile page. It has been a sheer joy to plan this page. I cannot help but be reminded of the famous line by George Zimmer…. “You’re gonna like the way you look. I guarantee it!”

To improve site speed, we have temporarily disabled showing alerts for milestones, tasks, files and time tracking on your Dashboard page. To learn about the latest status of your project, please click on the project title link within your Projects page.
After making system changes, we expect to restart these alerts by October 05. In the meantime, your patience is much appreciated!

Due to the federal observance of Labor Day in the U.S. on Monday, September 3, the Guru.com office will be closed. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 4 at 9:00 a.m. (EST).
All U.S. banks will also be closed. Direct deposit, PayPal, Prepaid MasterCard, and wire transfers payments scheduled for processing will be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 4. Please do not make payments from your bank account to third parties until you confirm that you have received your payment.
To those celebrating, please be safe and enjoy the holiday weekend!
